Baby Boogie Music Sessions

These popular free music sessions for babies and toddlers take place at many of our city libraries.  Find out more about times and dates.

Bookstart for Babies

Bookstart is a national book-gifting scheme to encourage mums, dads and carers to get babies and pre-school children into the wonderful world of books as early as possible. There are 2 Bookstart packs containing free books:
• Bookstart Baby, a pack for babies 0-12 months, available from libraries and health visitors.
• Bookstart Treasure, a pack for children aged 36-48 months, normally gifted to children at their nursery/pre-school but also available from libraries.

Storytime and Rock & Rhyme Sessions

Our free half-hour Storytime and Rock & Rhyme sessions are perfect for introducing pre-school under 5’s to the magic and fun of storytelling and nursery rhymes.  Storytime is held each week at Jubilee and Hove libraries.
Rock & Rhyme with nursery rhymes take place at Hove and Hollingbury libraries.

Toy Library

Based at Whitehawk Library, the toy library is a great way for children to be able to choose and borrow a different toy, puzzle and game each week. Find out when the next play day is happening.
