Families
There is so much for families and children to enjoy at Brighton & Hove Libraries and a visit to Jubilee Library is an experience in itself. From sharing the joys of reading and opening up a world of learning and knowledge, to firing up imaginations and simply ‘getting lost’ in books, libraries are a great way for families to enjoy books and reading together. Our library events will keep children interested, happy and amused and include the Summer Reading Challenge.

Library accounts for all the family
Our online library catalogue is easy to use to search for favourite books and titles. The whole family can join on line and, once set up, My Account allows you to set up family preferences and favourites. Older children will find it a fun and easy way of keeping up with their favourite books and authors.
‘Wall of a thousand Stories’ at Jubilee Library
Children will love the vibrant and colourful ceramic wall plaques at Jubilee Library’s children’s area. The library also offers baby changing facilities and lots of seating for browsing through books. The Booklovers Store, in the entrance to Jubilee library, sells interesting and unusual gifts, stationery, cards and pocket-money toys.
Brand new Children’s Mural at Hove Library
A fun and colourful new mural is the latest addition to Hove Library’s children’s area. Celebrating Hove Library’s 100th birthday, the mural depicts goblins dressed up as well-known story book characters including toad from ‘Wind in the Willows’, ‘Harry Potter’, and ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’.
