Housebound Library Service 

If you are housebound and have difficulty in getting to a library, we offer

  • a longer loan period of six weeks
  • concessions on fees and charges
  • collection of items by a friend or family member at any library
  • access to our services via this website
  • access to our services by telephone
  • a mobile library service
Service to housebound people in their own homes

Volunteer availability is very limited at the moment, however we are working on proposals for improving services to people in their own homes.

Currently we are working on a pilot project with the Neighbourhood Care Scheme to provide a library service to people in their own homes in Patcham and Hollingbury

You can browse our library catalogue online, and reserve items to be sent to the library of your choice for collection

Library Catalogue

You will need your library card number and PIN to make a reservation. You can also check what you have out on loan and renew items using the website. You are welcome to email your enquiries to us via the contact page.

The mobile library

You may find it convenient to get to a mobile library stop near your home. If you are interested in using the mobile library, the stopping places and timetable can be found on the Mobile Library page.
