Looking for a change in direction, a new job? Wanting to improve your essential skills? Need to find a training or further education course? Or just want some general careers information?

There are careers sections with reference books and books for loan in all libraries.

Other career and learning resources include
  • E-Clips, part of our Virtual Reference Library, a very useful online resource containing information on over 1200 different jobs and careers. Available at Jubilee and Hove libraries.
  • Essential Skills collections that cover English and Maths. These include easy readers graded at different skills levels as well as CD/audio tapes and they are available at all city libraries.
  • RAW – Reading and Writing collections for less confident readers part of a national project called The Vital Link. The main collections are available at Jubilee and Hove libraries.
  • Specific study aides and reference materials at all levels of adult learning from GCSE to university level.
  • Local and national part-time and full-time education and training course guides and university and college prospectuses are available at Jubilee library.
  • Some Open University undergraduate course materials and biannual drop-in sessions at Jubilee Library for advice from OU advisors.
  • Silver Surfer sessions for the over 50s for one-to-one computer training.

Daily local and national newspapers with job sections, available at all libraries.
