Star Wars Summer Fun
On 15th August a Star Wars themed event was held in the Children’s Library to celebrate the Summer Reading Challenge Space Hop.
Activities included making space ships for our starry back drop, painting Star Wars masks, and decorating paper bags as Star Wars characters to make puppets.
On the hour every hour anyone who dressed up got a small prize and entered our prize draw for a bag full of Star Wars and space themed goodies.
Over 100 children attended the event in total, many of whom were new recruits for Space Hop, or on a return visit so they could complete the next stage.
The final Space Hop day is on Saturday 28th August and will be themed Doctor Who. If the sun shines it will take place in Jubilee Square.
