Adult reading groups 

People of all ages and from all walks of life are getting together up and down the country to discuss, debate, and exchange views about books, from the latest best sellers and contemporary fiction to classic titles, poetry and plays. It’s a great way of meeting new friends who share a like-minded passion for books and there are regular structured groups taking place at many of our city libraries (see below).

Brighton & Hove library reading groups are free and take place at several of the city’s libraries. Most are open to new members at all times, check with us first before joining the group:

Jubilee Library

There are currently three reading groups at Jubilee library, including one on Saturdays.  All three are currently full. If you would like to be added to the waiting list for a place, please contact the Reading and Leisure Manager on 01273 294073 or by email.

Hove Library

There are currently six book groups at Hove library, including a Lesbian & Gay Book Group.  All are currently open to new members. To join, please contact the Reading and Leisure Manager on 01273 294073 or by email. 
All meet on Tuesday evenings throughout the month.
The Lesbian & Gay Book Group meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6.45pm.

A new reading group has been set up at Coldean Library. The group meets on various Thursdays. Please phone Coldean Library for further information.

Patcham Library
