Reasons to visit Jubilee Library   

Regular activities:
  • Reading groups - there are currently three at the library 
  • Silver Surfer sessions for over 50’s, first Tuesday each month, 10am-5pm
  • Open University drop in sessions
For children:
  • Chat, relax, find out, sit and read or join in our regular activities, we also have lots of lovely story books, discovery books, books for babies, films and stories on CD and books to help  families
  • Chatterbooks Book Group on the second and fourth Thursday of each month, 3.30-5.00pm
  • Baby Boogie first and third Thursday of the month, 10.15-10.45am or 11.45am-12.15pm
  • Saturday session for dads/male carers every second Saturday of each month (except August) 10.15–10.45am
  • Stories for under 5s every Wednesday from 10.15-10.45am
  • Activities - we hold regular a regular Sunday morning cinema along with all sorts of regular crafts and activities for children and young people.
  • Homework Clubs - for 9-11 year olds every Monday 3.30-5pm (term-time only)
For young people:
  • Young Persons lounge designed just for you to relax, meet have a coffee in this funky new area, play Wii with our massive plasma screen, chill and chat….This section also offers information books to help with exams and homework, graphic novels and a great range of books everyone reading!
  • Activities - look out for the latest what’s on, we run lots of regular events including animation and crafty stuff workshops.

  • Books for loan, including fiction, non-fiction, a large print section, and a reference collection
  • Free information and enquiry service - using book and internet resourced materials
  • Designated film area with DVDs for hire, covering all genres including world cinema
  • CDs, audio books and language courses for hire

  • Music scores and tutor books
  • Community information
  • Local studies for loan and reference
  • Rare books and special collections
  • Lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender collection

Jubilee Library Award Winning

Brighton’s Jubilee Library opened on World Book Day, 3 March 2005. It's ultra-modern and innovative glass-fronted structure stands tall within the city’s new £50m Jubilee Square development, and since opening the Library has won fourteen awards
