Council Connect available in libraries
Residents can now get help in their local library to access services via the council’s website. The new Council Connect service has been designed to help anyone who does not have a computer at home or is not used to using the internet. Volunteers will be available to help people to get online and direct them to sources of information and advice.
You can also get help to do other things online such as shopping, booking a holiday, applying for jobs, or sharing photographs with friends. Or maybe you just want to know how you can contact family and friends through email, or social media sites, such as Facebook.
The new service is part of the council’s strategy to make services quicker and easier to reach. A wide range of services can be accessed online including:
- Requesting repairs to a council property
- Ordering a recycling box
- Paying a bill
- Applying for free school meals
- Making a planning application
- Registering to vote
- Applying for a school place
- Many more
