Jubilee Library Conference Rooms  

Brighton’s new glass-fronted energy efficient landmark library in the heart of the city’s North Laine offers modern venue hire facilities in light, spacious and comfortable surroundings.  There’s a choice of two smaller conference rooms that can be joined together to form one large conference hall with

  • fully automated environmental controls for comfortable heating and lighting
  • connections for audio visual equipment
  • chilled water dispensers
  • on site light refreshments if required
  • full accessibility including accessible toilet and baby changing facilities close by
  • on site information on accessibility and security
    a security card locking system

Conference Room 1 (for smaller events, 5m width x 10m length) overlooking Jubilee Square and Jubilee Street
Maximum capacities  
Boardroom style: up to 25
Theatre style:  up to 30
Circle of chairs: up to 25

Conference Room 2 (7m width x 9m length) overlooking Jubilee Street:
Maximum capacities 
Boardroom style: up to 30
Theatre style: up to 45
Circle of chairs: up to 40

Conference Hall (room 1 & 2 together): (7m width x 22m length)
Maximum capacities 
Theatre style: up to 100

Learning Centre (for smaller events, 5m width x 10m length) overlooking Jubilee Square and Jubilee Street
Maximum capacities  
Boardroom style: up to 25
Theatre style:  up to 30
Circle of chairs: up to 25

Availability
Conference rooms are available to hire Monday to Friday (9.30am-5pm) with additional hours available for evenings (5.30pm-9.30pm).

Each day is divided up into three timeslots which can be combined together to create a full day booking.  Monday to Friday timeslots are

  • morning:  9.30am-1pm
  • afternoon: 1.30pm-5pm
  • evening: 5.30pm-9.30pm

Saturday booking is available by special arrangement only.

Access
Access to the Conference Rooms is via the main entrance on the ground floor of the library. To access the building outside of library opening times, attendees will need to press the conference room buzzer located next to the book drop to the right of the main entrance doors. 

Entry times are as follows

Morning event  
Trainers/Organisers: 9am-9.50am  
Attendees: 9.15am-9.50am
Afternoon event
Trainers/Organisers & Attendees: 1.30pm
Evening event
Trainers/Organisers & Attendees 5.30pm onwards
NB: entry for the morning event between 8.30-9am is by prior arrangement only.

Delivery of Large Items for Conference Room Events
All deliveries are via the main doors or loading bay (by prior arrangement).  Large items must be delivered at least one day before or between 8.00 and 9.15am on the day.  This must be arranged in advance with the Conference Room Bookings Officer.
