Sound Artist Johanna Hällsten in the Music Room
You are here:
Missed White Night? The Royal Pavilion offers a second chance for visitors to experience the specially-commissioned soundscape A Regency Utopia
This unique installation by sound artist Johanna Hällsten celebrates the individuals that have sustained the life of the palace, from the time of George IV up to the present day. Explore the hidden human histories of the Royal Pavilion through a series of soundscapes played in rooms throughout the building, as each piece creates its own musicality and draws attention to both the rich musical history of the palace and the sound of its many rituals. As you move through the Pavilion, listen in on the sounds of preparations for different activities, including references to the many restoration activities talking place in the building, as the sounds peel back the palace’s physical layers. Admission fee payable.
