Join the Brighton Museum Youth Events Team
What is it?
Brighton Museum is starting up a team of people aged 16 to 21 years old to help us run our new youth events programme.
Why?
- Get work experience in the arts
- Get experience and skills in events management
- Explore behind-the-scenes in the museum
- Take part in art and design sessions
- And most importantly, try something different, meet new people and have fun
What will you do?
Help come up with ideas for and run events at Brighton Museum for people your age.
The first event is on Saturday 24 July as part of the National 2012 Olympics build-up celebrations.
For example, you could decide to put on an event with live music, an illustration workshop, a fashion event, a day of film showings.
You will do the fun bits, choosing artists, getting to know the museum, and learn the less fun but important bits, how to write a risk assessment, writing a press release, how to plan your budget.
When and where?
The Events Team will meet monthly at Brighton Museum (entrance in the Pavilion Gardens in town opposite the Royal Pavilion)
Thursday 1 July 6pm, Brighton Museum
Wednesday 21 July 5pm to 8pm, Brighton Museum
Saturday 24 July will be the first big event day planned by you
